  • We began our oral exams today. Bonne chance à tous!


Lundi, le 14 janvier
  • We had our listening exam today.
  • We had time to work on our oral exam questions or our exam review. Make sure to bring everything you need to the oral exam, which starts tomorrow! Bring your exam review booklets as well, as that's what you'll be working on during the oral exam classes. You are expected to be present during all oral exams. If I still have time after the scheduled oral exams, I will be going on to the next day's scheduled exams. Be prepared! Bonne chance!!
  • Please keep in mind as well that we will need to be quiet during all oral exams so that students who are taking their exams may be able to concentrate. You may bring music to listen to (iPod/mp3 player) as long as you have headphones and the music isn't too loud.

  • We reviewed the conditionnel, as well as the irregular verbs.
  • We corrected our answers and did p144 du livre à l'orale.
  • We worked on a booklet for the conditionnel.
  • DEVOIRS: Booklet - and start on the exam review package because I have another one waiting for you! :)


Mardi, le 8 janvier
  • We discussed our holidays au passé.
  • We discussed exams - see the calendar for details of when they are.
    • I will be presenting you with outlines of each type of exam by Friday.
    • You MUST be present for ALL exams. If not, make sure your absence is accompanied by a doctor's note.
  • We learned our LAST verb tense of the year - the conditionnel! :)
  • DEVOIRS: Pratique b,c à la page 144 du livre.

  • N'oubliez pas d'apporter de la nourriture pour VENDREDI! (les biscuits, les croustilles, du maïs soufflé, des boissons, etc.)

Vendredi, le 14 décembre
  • Pour la tâche finale: inclue le nom du produit/service, la marque, une/deux techniques de persuasion, une machette, une image (ou plus!), du texte, et un slogan. Sache (know) ta cible (target audience).
    • p.e.: le slogan de McDonald's est "i'm lovin' it", mais la manchette est à propos du produit de quoi McDonald's fait la publicité.
    • la créativité est ESSENTIELLE. Le produit/service doit être NOUVEAU. Si ça existe en réalité, ajoute quelque chose au produit/service qui est nouveau.
    • Tu peux utiliser un ordinateur ou tes mains pour créer ta pub.
    • Utilise les techniques et les exemples qui montrent les techniques à la page 75-77 du livre; planifie ta tâche en utilisant la page 65 du cahier.
    • Utilise les temps de verbe que tu connais: le présent, l'impératif, le passé composé, l'imparfait, et le futur simple. N'utilise pas le conditionnel ou le subjonctif du tout!
    • Make me want to buy your product/service!!
  • Pas de devoirs - la tâche sera à remise mardi!
  • Test d'unité 3: Jeudi, le 20 décembre sur le futur simple et le gérondif/participe présent.

  • We had our quiz today.
  • We had time to work on our tâche finale - la pub! Here is the outline: This is due Tuesday!


Mercredi, le 12 décembre
  • We took up the answers to the paquet pour le futur simple.
  • QUIZ DEMAIN sur le futur simple - including les verbes irréguliers dans le cahier! Make sure you know the endings, as well as the radicals (starts) of the verbs!


Mardi, le 11 décembre
  • We, in pairs, asked each other questions about les pubs' effectiveness using certain techniques et le futur simple.
  • We reviewed how to form the futur simple.
  • We worked on questions to practice writing the futur simple.
  • DEVOIRS: Le paquet du futur simple SAUF les questions de lecture/compréhension! Aussi, apporte tes choses pour créer une pub.


Lundi, le 10 décembre
  • Today we reviewed les techniques de persuasion.
  • We had a listening activity on discerning the type of technique used.
  • We discussed le futur simple and took a short note.
  • We began using it in response to questions.
  • DEVOIRS: Trouve une pub française pour un point de bonus sur le test la semaine prochaine; start thinking of a unique product that you can market to teens. We will be creating our own pubs over the course of the coming week.
  • Our unit test will be next week sometime - most likely Wednesday or Thursday.

  • DEVOIRS: Trouve une pub française pour un point de bonus sur le test d'unité; réponds to the second bullet's questions on p77 - quelle pub est la plus frappante? la plus banale? etc.

  • We had more presentations today.
  • REQUIZ: Must be done before Friday, before or after school. Quizzes must be corrected and signed by a parent/guardian.
  • We continued with unité 3, discussing cahier p62 et le livre p72-74.
  • DEVOIRS: Apporter en classe 2 pubs du même genre (2 pubs du shampooing différents, 2 pubs des barres de chocolat différentes, etc) --> imprimé (you can google ads) ou sur youtube. On fera les comparaisons demain des pubs.


Mardi, le 4 décembre

  • We had a presentation today on the Literacy Test taking place April 11th, 2013.
  • We are having a literacy week to prepare for the mock literacy test next Jeudi le 29 novembre. Throughout the week we will be completing exercises during the first 30 minutes of class.
  • We went over l'imparfait on the sheet La rêve de Jacqueline. We will take up the other side tomorrow.
  • I had to move Monday's presentations to the following Monday due to booking a library period for Monday to give students more time to complete their project. This week, students are welcome to bring their laptops/iPads to class to work on the project when given time.

  • Today was a period 1 assembly schedule.
  • We took up yesterday's homework.
  • I presented an example of part of the tâche finale on "un objet-souvenir". We will do another example tomorrow.
  • DEVOIRS: choisis un objet-souvenir et une photo et l'apportes demain!

Lundi, le 12 novembre
  • We finished reading and discussing p66-67 in the textbook.
  • We went over a note on Imparfait vs. Passé Composé and when we use each of the tenses. There are specific cases! Here are some helpful links to get more information if you're finding yourself a bit confused: Imp vs PC 1
  • We practiced that knowledge with a couple of exercises.
  • DEVOIRS: The rest of the package is for homework with the Imparfait VS Passé Composé excercises.
Vendredi, le 9 novembre
  • I collected the website forms and the introducing yourself booklets. If you did not hand yours in today, please hand them in by Monday!
  • We corrected the imparfait sheet I gave yesterday.
  • We practiced l'imparfait oralement à la page 64 du livre.
  • We reviewed l'imparfait and we had time to study before our quiz.
  • We took our quiz.
  • We began to read p66 in our livres. We will finish this on Monday.
